Of the several things that I wanted was about "The Fountainhead". This is a wonderful book by Ayn Rand. I don't totally agreed with everything in the book. But I think it is a good work in human thought. Most ppl follow others, who are just as confused and following someone else. So what you get is a whole lot of confused ppl, living with no particular goal, not sure of what happiness is or how to find it. They depend on society to tell them what will make them happy. Look around you and you will see so many examples of this. The book strongly stresses that you need to be sure of things and not depend on others. You should not need anyone to live your life. If you are doing what you like your work will give you all the happiness that you can want.
Continuing this saga against depending on other for your thoughts, the book stresses the need for originality and creativity. You should never do something that was done for ages. It is very easy to follow norms that were in use for ages, cause ppl have accepted these as rules of life. They oppose any change in them... speak of evil customs are traditions... India has no dearth of these. And yet and change will surely be opposed. The author presents different human traits, in the form of different charecters, the way each deals with life, handles opposition of the public and uses the masses... all very clearly show you the ways of the human mind.
I would say it is a must read.
Ooh!! Got to leave again... guess my musings will go on for some time...
